How do I know if my drains need unblocking?
There are several tell-tale signs that can tell you that it is time to look at professional drainage in Wigan, and we want to make sure that you know all the possible signs, sights and smells that are associated with blocked drains.
- Slow drainage – if there is any sort of blockage or small clog in your drains, then you will notice water draining slowing from your sink, toilet, shower, and bath. Poor drainage in Wigan is normally one of the first signs that a block is forming, and it is not something to be ignored. The water must try and make its way around the block to pass, and it can keep adding to the clog with anything else that has managed to get down the plug hole. This could end up causing a major leak or even a burst pipe.
- Strange sounds – if you hear a gurgling sound coming from your drains as the water flows down, then this is a big indication of a clog beginning to form. The gurgling is created as trapped air in the drain escapes when it comes into contact with water, and you could hear it as you flush the toilet or emptying your sink or shower.
- Unusual smells – your drains will begin to start to give off an unpleasant smell that comes from food waste being accidentally put into your drains. The food will slowly start to decompose in your pipes and can be made worse by coming into contact with hot water.
- Raised water levels – if your toilet overflows when you flush it, or your bath water simply won’t budge when you pull the plug, then this is an indication of a serious blockage. If your water won’t drain at all, or the water level in your toilet seems a lot higher than normal then it could mean that there is a serious issue with your drains.
If you do notice any of these, then it is time to use our drain unblocking services. You don’t want to leave a blocked drain to get worse, that could mean that you will have a lot more stress and worry, not to mention a more expensive visit!
